Coronavirus Precautions

July 27th update: IPI continues our commitment to keeping your office visit experience safe by following the latest CDC guidelines. Currently, telemedicine visits are offered on a case by case basis if arrangements have been made with your IPI provider.

All patients will be required to wear a mask or face covering upon arrival.

To ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff, any patient experiencing fever AND/OR acute respiratory illness should contact the office at 225-769-3636 prior to appearing for any scheduled appointment. Those patients experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms OR who have household members who are experiencing similar symptoms need to reschedule their appointment.

Beginning Friday, March 13, Baton Rouge General will make the following changes to reduce the risk of spreading infection to our patients and staff members:

  • Hospital entrances will be limited. Please follow signs outside the facility.
  • All patients, visitors, physicians and staff will have their temperatures checked as they enter the facility. Visitors who have been screened and approved to enter will wear a sticker indicating that they have been screened and approved.
  • If a visitor has a temperature over 99.9, they will not be allowed to enter. If a patient has a temperature over 99.9, they will be asked to wear a mask.
  • No visitors under the age of 12 years old will be allowed to enter either hospital at any time and no more than two visitors will be allowed to visit a patient at a time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will continue to update as the situation evolves.

'Dr. Barrett Johnston and his staff have been phenomenal in helping me manage my pain caused by a horrific car crash in May of 2016. Caring, empathetic, professional and kind hearted are the words that come to my mind to describe Dr. Johnston's entire team. I highly recommend him if you need help in managing any kind of pain. Thanks Dr. Johnston!’
